While the kid that proposed that the government could save millions of dollars by changing their typeface from Times New Roman to Garamond wasn’t exactly spot on with his mathematical calculations, he definitely made eco printing a world-wide topic of conversation.

Typically we think of recycled stocks and soy based inks when referring to sustainable printing but what about the idea of creating a font that physically reduces the amount of ink put down on paper? Ryman Eco is a (free) font developed by Monotype with Ryman and Grey London, that does exactly that. Check out the video below featuring Dan Rhatigan to see how they did it.
